Gastroenterology

Gastroenterology is a branch of medicine focused on the digestive system and its disorders. Diseases affecting the gastrointestinal tract, which includes the organs from mouth to anus, along the alimentary canal, are the focus of this specialty. The inflammation or irritation of the stomach because of the infection is called gastritis, and in other part of the gastrointestinal tract is called gastroenteritis. The bowel habits of the patients are also altered. The exact causes of IBS are not know and it at any age. The condition can be relieved by making alteration in diet, some medication and educating the patient about the disorder. 

Stomach Ulcers or Peptic Ulcers

Stomach ulcers, also called peptic ulsers are any sores in the mucosa of the stomach as a result of the caustic effects of the acid in the lumen. Peptic ulcers are the most common ulcers of the gastrointestinal tract and are extremely painful. The pain worsens on an empty stomach and goes better after eating. Some of the medicines are also known to worsen stomach ulcers like aspirin, ibuprofen etc. 

Stomach or Gastric Cancer

Any sort of cancer arising from stomach is called stomach or gastric cancer.
